What is new year? In the latest episode of Strait Forward, Gen Zers on both sides of the Taiwan Strait explore the tastes and colors of Chinese New Year during a visit to century-old workshops. The lively new-year vibe can be observed in Taohuawu new-year prints, Suzhou square cakes in assorted flavors and, of course, the family reunion dinner.

Thanks to the inheritors who guard ancient artisanship, new-year traditions have withstood the test of time. Cultural inheritance determines the core identity of Chinese people, builds empathy across the Strait and facilitates the accomplishment of the Chinese dream. Working together, young people are injecting great vitality into the promotion of cultural heritage.
