It's the last day of the torch relay, opening at Southwest Jiaotong University on Wednesday morning and ending at Dong'an Lake Sports Park in the afternoon. A total of 124 bearers took part.

The weather may be poor, but the torchbearers say they feel honored and excited to take part in the event.

YANG WEI Gold Medalist in Gymnastics at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games "The Universiade is also a global event, second only to the Olympic Games. I participated in the Beijing FISU Games in 2001, and now it's being held again in China's Chengdu. The torch relay starts when the flame is lit and I hope the media and people pay attention to it before the torch is lit in the opening ceremony because the flame brings humans hope and positive energy."

JIANG WENWEN Medalist at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics in Synchronized Swimming "We're honored and proud. We used to be athletes and coaches, but it's our first time being torchbearers for such a big event."

CHANG SHILEI Composer of Chengdu FISU World Summer Games theme song "It's like a dream for me, honestly. I feel so honored and happy. The weather is unstable outside but it feels good, and it's exciting to run in the rain. I can't wait to do the relay."

The torch relay for the games began in Sichuan on July 2 after passing through other Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shenzhen, Harbin, Yibin and Chongqing.
